Title & Registration

Administered by the Alabama Department of Revenue - Motor Vehicle Division

Required documents include:

• Form 26-3 from the Motor Vehicle Division
• A notarized affidavit explaining why you need an assigned VIN - ie. it is a homebuilt vehicle
• Manufacturers Certificate of Origin for the chassis
• Bills of sale for all the major components such as body kit, chassis, engine, transmissions, etc.. Bills of sale need to contain the VIN and must be notarized.

"Inspections" then needs to be contacted and a VIN will be assigned and a title issued.

The registration process is then the same as for any other vehicle.

Emissions & Testing

There is no emissions testing in Alabama.
