BODY
The body of the CSW 356 Speedster replica is made entirely of hand laid fiberglass.
Every step of the manufacturing process of our 356 Speedster replica is carefully controlled to ensure nothing but the highest quality results:
- first layer of 2 oz. matting hand laid and rolled into the mould, then cured for a minimum of 24 hours
- second layer of 2 oz matting hand laid and rolled, then cured for 24 hours
- final layer of 2 oz matting hand laid and rolled, then cured for a minimum of another 24 hours
Each layer is allowed to cure before laying in the next layer of matting. This eliminates problems related to heat generation and warping and ensures that you have a body that is free from the ripples and waves that frequently plague fiberglass car panels.
The resulting shell is made up of a total of 6 ounces of matting, over 3/16 inches thick and stronger than the original steel body of the Porsche 356 Speedster. Combined with our heavy-duty chassis, our body helps create a very strong, durable and safe automobile.
